Line Cook, Italian Cuisine a Must

Job Title: Line Cook, Italian Cuisine Experience

Reports To: Sous Chef

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Line Cook is responsible for prepping food and plating dishes according to a restaurant’s menu specifications. Their main duties include preparing and cooking food in a specific station (grill or Vegetable), cleaning up prep areas, and making sure the kitchen is stocked.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the preparation station and kitchen are set up and stocked.
  • Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Report to the Executive Chef and follow instructions.
  • Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Stock inventory and supplies.
  • Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
  • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
  • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Line cook in a Kitchen, in a restaurant.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Italian Cuisine.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules.
  • Physical ability to stand for long hours.
  • Friendly, responsible, and punctual.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.

EDUCATION:

  • High School degree, GED or Equivalent.
