JOB DESCRIPTION:

Oversee daily operation of the hotel. Ensure company goals and initiatives are met by developing and implementing clear strategies with all departments. Responsible for maintaining a strong and healthy team while promoting the Company’s mission, internal culture, and brand experience. This individual will work with the ownership’s vision to enhance and innovate in key areas of the operation while managing financial efficiency and quality throughout.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the planning of all areas is completed on time for opening requirements in coordination with the Head of Development
  • Oversee the operation team comply to all pre-opening processes, operational brand standards, insurance requirements etc.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to interview and hire team members and ensure proper new hire onboarding and job specific training is completed, as well as manage team member performance and implement company policies and procedures and approve time sheet.
  • Responsible for conducting the Hotel and Team orientation. Ensuring there is a fair amount of understanding in terms of the brand statutory requirements and all reporting formats.
  • Prepare and present pre-opening process presentation to Owners explain the various stages and nuances of pre-opening, including the standard requirements and compliances that are required.
  • Assisting in residential sales as and when required and development with strong sales prospects.
  • Responsible for the preparation, presentation and subsequent achievement of the Hotel and annual Operating Budget, Capital Budget and Marketing & Sales Plan through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
  • Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
  • Ensure full compliance to hotel and operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Submit monthly reports of P&L analysis and updates. Set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the property.
  • Responsible to grow revenue and maximize financial performance.
  • Hold weekly and monthly financial review meeting with all department managers and supervisors to maximize budgeted productivity levels ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
  • Reviews daily operational and financial reports and ensures discrepancies are taken care of in an immediate manner.
  • Oversee purchases and inventories of hotel and supplies and equipment and follows proper SOPs for purchase orders. Communicates with vendors and negotiates contracts for best pricing and quality.
  • Monitors payroll and labor costs to ensure schedule is yielded within business needs.
  • Continually monitor and inspect property to meet or exceed established Quality Assurance Review scores.
  • Provide effective leadership to hotel and team members.
  • Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
  • Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their satisfaction.
  • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the Hotel and management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests in a friendly approachable and professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritize all aspects of hotel functioning.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong customer service skills (internal and external customers)
  • Ability to work well under pressure, exercise good judgment when making decisions and handle stressful situations in a mature and professional manner.
  • Proactive and deadline-oriented work ethic.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to put together reports and complete administrative tasks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • 4 years of experience in the hotel management or related professional area.
  • Knowledge of general business practices including accounting, human resources and customer service.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (preferred).

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
