Banquet Chef de Cuisine

SUMMARY:

The Banquet Chef de Cuisine is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations for banquet events, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. This role requires strong leadership skills, creativity, and the ability to manage a large team in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and design innovative banquet menus that align with seasonal trends, client preferences, and budgetary guidelines.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards while promoting a positive team environment.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation for large-scale events, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and storage of food products to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Work closely with event planners and service staff to ensure seamless execution of events, addressing any specific client requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist in managing kitchen labor and food costs, contributing to the overall financial success of the banquet operations.
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and techniques, implementing innovations to enhance banquet offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a banquet or catering environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong culinary skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Food safety and sanitation certifications.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
