Prep Cook, Italian Cuisine Experience

Department: Back of House
Location: Miami, FL

SUMMARY:

The Prep Cook with Italian cuisine experience is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in the cooking process of Italian dishes. This role involves following recipes, ensuring food quality, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment to support the culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and chop vegetables, herbs, and other ingredients for Italian dishes according to recipes and specifications.
  • Assist in cooking sauces, pastas, and other Italian specialties, ensuring authenticity and quality.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the prep area, including proper storage of ingredients.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines, including safe food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation.
  • Assist with inventory management and restocking of kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Participate in menu development and suggest improvements based on ingredient availability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, with specific experience in Italian cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
