Steward

Department: Back of House
Location: Miami, FL

SUMMARY:

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas. This role involves washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring that all workspaces are organized and hygienic, supporting the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment or by hand.
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and grills, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of storage areas for kitchen supplies and equipment.
  • Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Assist with cleaning kitchen and dining areas, including floors, countertops, and appliances.
  • Support food preparation as needed and assist chefs and kitchen staff during service periods.
  • Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the Stewarding Lead or management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Stewarding Lead or kitchen management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or stewarding role is a plus but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
