Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel Group Sales Manager with a strong background in the SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) market segment. This role will be responsible for driving group sales within this key segment, managing client relationships, and meeting revenue targets. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in sales, excellent negotiation skills, and an in-depth understanding of the unique needs of SMERF clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new group sales opportunities within the SMERF segment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SMERF clients, acting as their primary point of contact to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop, and implement effective sales strategies, and action plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
  • Conduct site tours and presentations, showcasing property amenities and services to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the events and operations teams to ensure seamless client experiences, from planning through execution.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities, adjusting strategies to stay competitive and maximize market share.
  • Prepare and manage sales contracts, proposals, and other required documentation.
  • Provide accurate revenue forecasts and pipeline reports to the Director of Sales.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a strong focus on the SMERF segment.
  • Proven ability to exceed sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and provide exceptional service.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM software such as Ivvy or Delphi and MS Office Suite.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, associates, and external partners.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Sitting for extended periods is common.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
